Rob Cannillo - Singer-songwriter, guitar, harmonica, vocals
Raised on a diet of the Allman Brothers,
Ray Charles, BB King and Bob Dylan, Rob
writes songs with grit, emotion and
meaning, delivered with a smokey vocal. A self taught guitar player, Rob has always had a story to tell. He has emerged as one of the Hudson Valley's premier singer-songwriter's.
Recently Rob has shared the stage and/or opened up for Steve Forbert, members of Lynryd Skynyrd, Members of Bad Company, G.E. Smith and Jimmy Hall.
"Music is inside of me, it's who I am. I would be playing these songs in my living room or on my back porch, even if nobody was there."
Hard times pushed him to give up everything and pursue his passion of music. Picked up his first guitar at age 25 and has been on a roll ever since.
Major facial reconstruction surgery, speech therapy, cancer scares are just some of what this modern day troubadour has endured to sing his songs.
The real McCoy in a land of wannabes and posers. No fluff, no hype, no hoopla. Just the song. It's all about the music.
" Passionate and from the soul" are heard over and over again when people describe Rob's songs and singing.
His songs walk the line between sinner and saint.
" Bad judgment and me, we ain't no strangers, like a fool I never shied away from danger"
"But sometimes in my darkest nights, I would cry out for you, hopin' you'd make it alright."
